Paying for college can seem overwhelming, but scholarships are one of the best ways to reduce the cost of higher education. There are thousands of opportunities available to students each year. Scholarships are awarded based on a variety of criteria, including academic achievement, leadership, community service, extracurricular involvement, career interests, talents, financial need, and many other unique characteristics. We encourage students to begin searching early, apply often, and never assume they won't qualify for a scholarship. Even smaller awards can add up and significantly reduce college expenses.
Throughout the school year, the Pilot Point High School Counseling Department will share local, state, and national scholarship opportunities as they become available. Remember - the more scholarships you apply for, the greater your chances of earning financial assistance to help achieve your educational goals.
