PPHS First Day Information – Arrival, Drop-Off, Buses & Student IDs

Posted Date: 08/08/26 (09:00 AM)

Bearcat Families,
We are excited to welcome our students back to Pilot Point High School! As we prepare for the first day of school, we wanted to answer a few common questions and provide information that will help make arrival and dismissal as safe and smooth as possible.
🏫 What time does school start?
The school day begins at 7:45 AM and ends at 3:30 PMDoors open at 7:20 AM.

🚗 What is the drop-off and pick-up procedure?
Parents should follow the black arrows on the attached traffic map for the designated parent drop-off and pick-up traffic flow.
Student drop-off and pick-up will take place at the West Entrance/Cafeteria Entrance, identified by the orange dot on the map. Please pull forward to the covered walkway before allowing your student to exit or enter the vehicle. Pulling all the way forward will help us keep traffic moving and prevent backups.
The orange route is for buses only. Please do not use the bus lane for parent drop-off or pick-up. We especially ask for everyone's patience during the first few days as students, families, buses, and staff become familiar with the routine.

🚌 When will I know my child's bus and pickup time?
Pilot Point ISD uses BusZone to provide families with bus information and bus tracking. Families can use BusZone to receive information and notifications regarding their student's transportation.

🪪 Are student ID pictures mandatory?
Yes. Student photos for school IDs are mandatory. We encourage students to wear their ID badge while on campus; however, wearing the ID badge is not currently mandatory.
We appreciate everyone's cooperation and patience as we begin the new school year. Following the designated traffic routes and staff directions will help us keep our students safe and get everyone where they need to be efficiently.
We are looking forward to a great start to the year!
